From the Hard Knock
Life Tour to the Emmys.
Muscle Music is a music company. We work across A&R, label and sync — signing and developing artists, releasing records, and placing music in film and television. Three decades of composing and production sit underneath all of it.
Lofey joined Jay-Z’s Hard Knock Life Tour as a producer, working out of a studio built into the tour bus. The brief was simple: make as much music as possible. That run led to in-house writing and production for Def Jam and Desert Storm / Roc-A-Fella, and records for Jay-Z, Nas, Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, DMX and Scarface.
The catalog now spans 10,000+ film and soundtrack placements — Spider-Man: Homecoming, Transformers, Night at the Museum, and a 2008 American Music Award for Alvin and the Chipmunks — plus the sonic identity of VH1’s entire Love & Hip Hop franchise, built with Mona Scott-Young from season one.
Recent work includes all original music and the theme for Star Search, live on Netflix in 2026, plus the 2025 BET Awards and Emmys, Tyler Perry productions, and records with GloRilla, Flo Milli and Moneybagg Yo.
The company runs on three sides: A&R, label and sync. The label operates in a joint venture with Avex. Everything is written and produced in-house. Artist management is run by partner Jesse Beer, with 25+ years in the business behind it, and is kept separate from label signings.
